Grass warden

Together with the Steinwarder, the Graswarder forms an elongated peninsula with a 230-hectare nature reserve. Graswarder was originally an island, but was artificially connected to the Steinwarder peninsula in 1954. Now they form a picturesque unit - and the body of water that opens up between them and the mainland is the Heiligenhafen inland lake. By the way: the inland lake provides direct access to the Baltic Sea!

Beaches

Fine sandy beaches and a picturesque dune landscape: this enchanting backdrop stretches over 4 kilometres and invites you to take long walks along the beach. Various sections of beach also offer the right ambience for all coastal fans. The bathing beach is located between the main DLRG centre on the Steinwarder and the western Graswarder. And if you have your four-legged friend in tow, you can use the beautiful dog beach to the east of the main DLRG station. Let's go to the beach!

The pier

Completed in 2012, the pier is much more than a simple bridge - it is an experience in itself. Not only can you enjoy a unique view as far as Fehmarn, but you can also explore the individual sections of the bridge. It has a separate area for children, a bathing deck, numerous seating and sunbathing options and glazed sections, making it suitable for days with bad weather. In the evening, the indirect lighting bathes the path onto the water in a beautiful light - and enchants the view towards the coast. See for yourself!
