Together with the Steinwarder, the Graswarder forms an elongated peninsula with a 230-hectare nature reserve. Graswarder was originally an island, but was artificially connected to the Steinwarder peninsula in 1954. Now they form a picturesque unit - and the body of water that opens up between them and the mainland is the Heiligenhafen inland lake.
By the way: the inland lake provides direct access to the Baltic Sea!
